Nissan on Course for 20% Growth Target

Nissan expects to meet its targets of 20% sales growth and a 9% market share for its 2011 fiscal year ending March 2012. Total sales in Thailand are projected to reach 77,000 units for the year. Mr. Toru Hosegawa, president of Nissan Motor Thailand said Nissan introduced a series of new products such as the Nissan Almera, Teana, Navara and X-Trail to stimulate the market last fiscal year. As for 2012 fiscal year, Nissan expects to achieve a 10% market share, supported by sales of about 100,000 units.
Mr. Hosegawa said Almera, Nissan's first eco-car sedan made a successful launch in Thailand last year with a good booking record of 25,000 units in five months. "For the 2011 fiscal year to date (February), Nissan's market share has increased to 8.8% from 7.4% last year and is fully on track to achieve a 9% market share" Under the plan, Nissan will introduce at least 10 models in five years ending 2016 fiscal year, speed up the expansion of sales and after-sales network, and maximize customer satisfaction.
