The National Bureau of Statistics says the latest industrial output figure indicates a slow-down in that sector.
China's statistics bureau says the country's industrial output rose 17.5 percent in August. This is half a percentage lower than in July, and close to two percent lower than for the month of June.
In the first eight months of the year, industrial output increased by 18.4 percent from a year earlier. The manufacturing of transportation equipment saw the highest growth. The bureau says over 98 percent of the industrial products were sold in August, 0.28 percentage points lower than the same period of last year.
